Virtual Nirvana!

Everyone wants to attain Nirvana or Liberation! Nirvana means to go beyond suffering (Nir –suffering Vana – beyond) All religions claim that they can lead you you towards this objective if you follow their tradition and beliefs. However my take is that we must learn how to enjoy suffering, joy, fear, anxiety because all of these emotions form part of our cyclic existence and that is why we invite them into our minds. When desire becomes a sort of untamable energy overcoming all emotional and moral barriers then in one weak moment we give in to our human frailties whether it is love, lust, sex or sin. Life itself is full of chaos where order is beyond human comprehension, like in the old world where we tend to lead many lives. There is no sharp thin line separating joy and sorrow, so both should be acceptable to us. We also face the onslaught of time sucking distractions like the Internet driven e-mail, face book, twitter, texting, chats, virtual relationships, cyber love et al. No wonder we have no time for real fun, love, sex, family or leisure. Enjoying life or seeking new goals is just another impossible dream – and our banished list of aspirations haunt us like a nightmare. Isn’t it a cruel paradox that even though everyone claims he is seeking Nirvana – even the saddest and most miserable man on earth does not want to leave this planet and clings on to dear life. Its tempting and delicious because everyone is delirious about their new found freedom – a perpetual séance with Skype, Chat, Face book, and twitter and we cant relive this dream if our bodies are consumed in the funeral pyre. Unless by some Cosmic largesse Internet facilities are available in heaven and hell. Vinay-
