Bearding the Lion in his own den.

Where do beards come into fashion and why do some have more hair than others. The secret to the hirsute facial dimension is the chemical Dihydro-testosterone, whose level varies in men as well as during different seasons. Sporting a beard has been a sign of manliness from time immemorial. Otto the Great from the Celtic tribe to Abraham Lincoln in the 19th century sported beards made it popular and separated the men from the boys. Some women in western society are biased against beards The next time you are tempted to ignore someone or judge them based upon what you think they should "conform" to, just remember that your Lord and Savior had a beard. Many religions, including Sikhism, Islam, and sects of Judaism, encourage or require their men to keep beards. Jesus Christ is often depicted with a beard. Why does God like facial hair so much? In ancient civilizations beards were a sign of honor. Scientists believe that pre-historic men had beards to keep the face warm, skin safe from the elements, as a cushion and for intimidation. Hence some women who are less adventurous don’t fancy bearded men. Around 345 BC Alexander the Great decreed that soldiers should not grow beards. In a study of facial hair women stated that they viewed bearded men as older, more respected, powerful and of a higher status as compared to clean shaven men. However the paradox was that they found bearded men 2/3rd less attractive as the clean shaven men. When it comes to success outside relationships 98% of the Forbes 100 lists of the richest men were clean shaven. It was also observed that 98% of the world’s lumberjacks, warriors and bad asses have beards.
