The Truth shall let you “flee” …..!

This is an oft repeated verily in the Bible and used by every preacher worth his gown. The biblical implication is you are free from sin and no longer a slave – but unshackled from the religious context and semantics what does it mean? Jesus stated “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one can reach the Father except through me (John 14.1) but what is the father like? What does it signify? In eastern philosophy they claim that bad Karma of the past can be erased if you attain Nirvana. There are so many religious spiritual and philosophical interpretations that one is confused and can only shrug it off. If truth or reality is what exists then each religion, culture, society and individual perceives it with a different tinted spectacle till it becomes formless and invisible. Since we read too much into reality the, interpretations are totally different for every individual and this is the basis of conflict. As Errol Morris states “the truth is out there, truth may be elusive, it may even be unknowable, but that doesn’t mean that reality is just a matter of subjective perspectives that one way of seeing things is just as good as another. Just like life the truth is also as explosion of contradictory perceptions and possibilities. Truth lies everywhere and partly in lies. Truth can also be hate as Orwell stated “during times of Universal deceit, telling the truth can cause a revolution. The search for the truth is just a particular species for the search for purpose, meaning, and enlightenment and is as elusive as a wild goose chase. Not through much learning is the mystery of life (Atman) reached – not through the intellect or sacred teachings.
